James Hardie HardieBacker is an interior cement-board tile substrate family in 3 ft × 5 ft sheets. The 1/4 in board is aimed at floor underlayment and low-build transitions; the thicker wall board is used for floors, walls, shower surrounds, and other wet-area tile assemblies.
